Jiri’s Journal #3

By

Hi friend,

Here’s journal #3, with my 2025 life updates. I’m writing from Mallorca, listening to this song and drinking great coffee at Mistral. I've been here two weeks on a one-way ticket. No plans, no agenda. After exiting my company, I invited friends to come here and spend a week together. Then last Sunday, after they left, my fiancée and our kitten Jimmy arrived. I’m working remotely, playing padel, and figuring out what’s next.

The last 12 months have been wild.

Last fall, I got engaged in SF with the love of my life. Then in March 2025, I sold VOS.health to Spring Health for millions of dollars. Spring is a US mental health unicorn. I’m now building an AI-led mental health care platform there. It’s my first time being employed, and it feels very different from running a startup.

This year, I also built and scaled an AI B2C app and sold it four months later to a Spanish app publisher for nearly seven figures in dollars. I’ll share the full story in a future email.

I also got obsessed with padel.

Like really obsessed. I moved from casual games to tournaments. And because I can’t do anything halfway, I started Founders Racket Club (you can join). More than 30 app founders played in our first tournament in NYC this fall. Thank you to RevenueCat for sponsoring it. We held the next tournament in San Francisco, and Prague is later this month, with four spots left. If you play padel or tennis, come join us. Would be great to see you on the court.

Here's what fills my days now:

At Spring Health, I’m building an AI mental health platform.

In my free time, I’m building an AI-first software company. I’m keeping it quiet for now.

I’m mentoring three SaaS startups and enjoying helping the founders grow their apps.

I’ve started angel investing with small checks and hands-on support in the early days. I’m particularly interested in SaaS and consumer subscription businesses. If you know someone building one, I’d appreciate an intro.

I want to host at least one Founders Racket Club tournament a month for now.

Bara and I are planning our wedding in Italy next year. Can't wait!

A few things I’ve been using, watching, and thinking about:

For app builders - check out the 2025 In-App Subscription Report by RevenueCat and also this from Adapty. Really good data in there.

Been vibecoding a lot with Cursor AI and Lovable lately. Send me what you’re building with them! I always struggle to choose a meal at a new restaurant, so last time, while waiting for food, I built this tiny app to help me choose.

If you’re looking for Christmas gifts, I’ve been using this website to find ideas.

Software recommendations here.

Some people asked me about my padel equipment, so my current racket is this one, and I play in these all-time favorite shoes.

We started using this platform for sourcing UGC creators to market our B2C apps, and the first results are great. Check it out.

I'm thinking of doing a Padel + Coworking retreat in Spring 26 for 10 founders (DM me if you're interested in joining).

This year I did my first private equity investment via a multifamily office. If you'd like to hear more, send me a DM. If enough people are interested, I'll write an email about it.

I'm still bullish on crypto - especially SOL and ETH.

I’ve been watching House of Guinness on Netflix (it reminds me of Peaky Blinders) and Billionaires’ Bunker.

I went to a mobile app conference in NYC last month. Some good insights, video recording included here.

I’m also building something for consumer subscription apps and plan to launch soon. If you want early access, reply and tell me what you’re working on.
